Ubiik has introduced Maverick 220, a revolutionary LTE-M/NB-IoT module tailored for utilities, private LTE networks, and industrial IoT applications. Maverick 220 surpasses the industry-standard 23 dBm power limitation, significantly expanding the range of LTE-enabled IoT devices. It offers transmit power of up to 28 dBm for LTE-M and 30 dBm for NB-IoT (Power Class 1), ensuring reliable connectivity for long-range applications with moderate bandwidth requirements.

TH Peng, CEO at Ubiik, highlighted the significance of Maverick 220 in overcoming the power limit constraints faced by private LTE networks. By eliminating this bottleneck, IoT devices can now transmit signals farther and more reliably than ever before. Traditional commercial networks typically operate within Power Class 3, limited to 23 dBm, which can hinder uplink performance. In contrast, Maverick 220 supports Power Class 1, enabling higher transmit power and improved uplink performance.

Private network owners can now maximize the potential of 3GPP technologies with Maverick 220. The module is designed to enhance coverage in scenarios where bandwidth is limited to 5 MHz or less, common in private LTE networks. Maverick 220 is the first LTE module specifically crafted for private LTE networks and industrial IoT applications, offering TDD LTE-M support and extending range capabilities for TDD spectrum owners.

In addition to its long-range capabilities, Maverick 220 is fully compatible with existing LTE-M and NB-IoT standards, providing more link budget and supporting license-free 902-928 MHz LTE-M operation. When paired with the freeRAN Base Station from Ubiik, the module becomes an ideal companion for deploying hybrid LTE networks, particularly in utilities, smart grids, industrial automation, and remote IoT deployments.

Ubiik is expanding its product lineup by integrating the Maverick 220 module into its Pyxis edge router family. This new model, set to launch later this year, will offer enhanced transmit power, security, and seamless connectivity for industrial and utility IoT applications. By introducing this high-transmit power router, Ubiik aims to accelerate the adoption of private LTE networks for utilities and mission-critical IoT deployments.
