The Quick Connect Studio design platform revolutionizes the way engineers approach system development by offering a graphical interface that allows users to easily drag and drop device and design blocks on the Cloud. This innovative approach simplifies the process of building production-level software, making it as straightforward as piecing together building blocks. With minimal upfront learning or investment required, engineers can quickly generate, compile, and build the base software automatically, marking a significant shift towards the no-code paradigm of development.

Renesas is continuously enhancing the Quick Connect Studio platform by expanding its portfolio to include a growing number of devices from Renesas and partner companies. Users now have access to a wide range of devices to build their prototype systems, including support for all Renesas RA MCU boards, multiple Renesas wireless modules, sensors, and devices from partners like ams OSRAM, TDK, and Arducam. This expansion enables users to create over 350 systems using Renesas MCU and breakout boards, with plans to incorporate more devices from additional suppliers and partners in the future.

One of the latest features introduced by Renesas is real-time code customization and remote debugging for Quick Connect Studio users. This functionality allows engineers to customize the automatically generated code in real-time within the browser application. By leveraging remote board farms, users can test the code on target hardware dynamically, streamlining the process of building proof of concepts and prototyping system solutions by simultaneously working on software and hardware components.

Renesas has also implemented multi-region secure infrastructure deployments worldwide to ensure a uniform user experience, faster response times, and reduced latency. This infrastructure enables auto-scaling to accommodate multiple concurrent users accessing the platform from anywhere at any time, enhancing the overall efficiency and accessibility of Quick Connect Studio.

“Quick Connect Studio is a game-changer for the industry,” stated DK Singh, Vice President of Digitalization at Renesas. “Engineers can now engage in hardware and software development concurrently, eliminating the need for extensive preparatory work in the system development process. This transformative approach empowers designers to focus on their core innovation, enabling them to build software rapidly and test product ideas with ease.”

According to Sahil Choudhary, Director of Marketing at TDK, “Renesas is empowering customers to accelerate their proof of concepts and production processes through Quick Connect Studio. By seamlessly integrating our MEMS 6-axis motion sensor with any Renesas RA MCU on this platform, customers can generate production-ready code within minutes without getting bogged down in technical intricacies.”

Quick Connect Studio is a key component of Renesas Quick Connect, a platform that features standardized hardware with established interfaces like PMOD™, Arduino, and MIKROE. This standardization allows engineers to mix and match MCUs, MPUs, sensors, and connectivity boards seamlessly. In the future, users will have the opportunity to expand beyond Renesas and collaborate with various partners, including major cloud providers, service integrators, and leaders in the open-source community.

The Quick Connect Studio design platform is currently available and supported by a range of Quick Connect IoT development boards encompassing MCUs, connectivity solutions, and sensors. Renesas plans to continuously add more development kits, PMODs, and peripheral boards to the platform to further enhance the user experience and capabilities.
