Novosense Microelectronics has introduced a cutting-edge System-on-Chip (SoC) designed specifically for modern automotive ambient lighting systems. The NSUC1500-Q1, when paired with the high-precision NSLxxxxx series of linear LED drivers, offers a comprehensive solution for various automotive lighting applications, including conventional taillights, dynamic taillights, and illuminated grilles.

Powered by an ARM Cortex-M3 core with 32 KB Flash, 2 KB EEPROM, and 15K ROM, the chip boasts dedicated memory for runtime operations. It features four LED driver channels capable of delivering up to 64 mA each, controlled by 16-bit independent PWM outputs. Additionally, the chip includes a 12-bit ADC, integrated temperature sensor, and voltage monitoring for automatic compensation of LED color shifts caused by temperature variations or aging.

The NSUC1500-Q1 is equipped with a high-performance op amp tailored for automotive applications. Furthermore, it comes with an integrated LIN transceiver and controller that support LIN 2.x and SAE J2602 communication standards, offering features like auto-addressing to streamline network configuration. The chip also facilitates software updates through the ROM-based UDS bootloader without utilizing Flash memory.

Targeted at automotive taillights, interior lighting modules, EV charging door indicators, and other RGB/RGBW-based lighting systems, the integrated chip provides compact, efficient, and intelligent control. Feng GAO, the Product Line Marketing Manager at Novosense, emphasized the significance of the NSUC1500-Q1 in addressing the evolving demands of interior ambient lighting.
