Broanmain Plastics Showcases Prototype-to-Production Projects

Broanmain Plastics, a family-owned plastic moulder based in Dorking, will be showcasing their recent prototype-to-production projects at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics exhibition in February. With over 60 years of experience, the company offers a range of services including tool design, plastic moulding, and finishing technologies, all on a single site in Surrey.

One of the notable projects that will be on display is a motion sensor housing for Cucumber Lighting Controls. The company was in search of a UK-based moulder and found the perfect fit with Broanmain Plastics. Cucumber CEO Mark King emphasized the importance of manufacturing components locally, stating, "Manufacturing components on UK shores is by far the most sustainable way to create a product that will be sold and used here. The logistical benefits of appointing a British company that has the capacity to mass mould and store components for us, combined with a skilled and collaborative team that can oversee the design and production of technical tools, adds immeasurable value."

Another impressive project that will be showcased is a fire-compliant magnetic door latch for Fireco. Broanmain Plastics not only provided their tool making expertise but also delivered a personalized service. Fireco Engineer Matt Ball praised the company, saying, "Broanmain not only shares their tool making expertise, they deliver a personalized service. Plus, they have the manufacturing capacity to scale up production."

Broanmain Plastics offers a wide range of services to various industries including aerospace, electronics, defense, science, and consumer markets. In addition to their plastic moulding capabilities, they also specialize in thermoplastic, thermosetting, and injection moulding. The company's design services include mouldability and feasibility studies, reverse-engineering, and reworking existing designs.
