The fall in DRAM contract prices, which lasted for eight consecutive quarters since 4Q21, was finally reversed in 4Q23, says TrendForce, while NAND prices rose again in 3Q23 after four quarters of decline.
According to TrendForce, for the price rally to continue, suppliers must effectively control their capacity utilization rates.
In the first quarter (Q1), DRAM contract prices are expected to rise by around 13-18% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), while NAND Flash contract prices are expected to hike by 18-23%.
In the second quarter (Q2), both DRAM and NAND prices are expected to see a 3-8% QoQ rise.
Looking ahead, TrendForce predicts that both the third quarter (Q3) and fourth quarter (Q4) will see QoQ rises of 8-13% for both DRAM and NAND prices.
