The EC Electronics Group, a global provider of electronics manufacturing services, has acquired Liad Electronics, a Netherlands-based company specializing in printed circuit board assemblies for high-tech customers. This acquisition was made possible with the support of Shawbrook Bank and Rockpool Investments.

With the acquisition of Liad Electronics, the EC Electronics Group will expand its presence in mainland Europe and gain additional manufacturing capacity through Liad's site in Breda, the Netherlands.

This transaction marks the second acquisition for the EC Electronics Group following Rockpool's investment in September 2022. Liad Managing Director Rick Meesters will continue to oversee the group's operations in the Netherlands and will also re-invest in the group, joining the EC Electronics Group board.

"We are very excited about Liad Electronics joining the EC Group and working with the incredibly experienced team there," said Phil Simmonds, CEO of EC Electronics. "Liad will now be the foundation for the next stage of our growth plans in mainland Europe and a key part of the future success of the group."

Rick Meesters of Liad Electronics expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "I am looking forward to collaborating with the EC Group and Rockpool. The additional services offered by EC will allow us to significantly improve our position and provide extra support to existing relationships."

Established in 1984, EC Electronics offers a wide range of manufacturing services, including PCB assembly, cable assembly, electronics box build, low-pressure overmoulding, electronic design, supply chain services, and product realization.
