Mechatronic Systemtechnik in Austria has recently unveiled its state-of-the-art €20 million technology centre in Fürnitz, featuring a brand new cleanroom facility. The impressive complex spans 6,500m2 across three storeys, housing essential components such as a clean room and laboratory crucial for the planning, development, and production of the company’s semiconductor substrate handling systems.

Established in 1998 in Villach, Mechatronic specializes in the fully automated handling of non-standard substrates, including stacked, thin, or warped wafers, as well as eWLP, MEMS, TAIKO, bumped, and film frames. Following its acquisition by Accuron Technologies in 2017, the company has experienced a remarkable 20% annual growth over the past five years, necessitating this strategic expansion to meet escalating customer demands and facilitate future advancements.

“We are thrilled about the enhanced capabilities that this new facility brings to our operations,” expressed Mr. Walter Schober, CEO and Founder of Mechatronic. “The Technology Centre not only bolsters our production capacity but also underscores our unwavering commitment to sustainable practices."

Environmental sustainability took center stage in the design of the technology centre. The entire building is equipped with underfloor heating coupled with heat recovery and concrete core activation, along with a solar photovoltaic (PV) system boasting a capacity of 361 kWp on its roof.

“This new Technology Centre marks a significant milestone for both Mechatronic and the Accuron Group. It showcases our enduring dedication to subsidiaries, employees, and host countries. We eagerly anticipate celebrating Mechatronic’s accomplishments and industry contributions in the years to come,” remarked Philip Yeo, Chairman of Accuron Technologies.
