Samsung Electronics, a global leader in advanced memory technology, has recently announced the successful qualification of Samsung’s automotive LPDDR4X memory for integration with the Snapdragon® Digital Chassis™ developed by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. This milestone paves the way for the application of LPDDR4X memory in premium in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The qualification of Samsung’s automotive LPDDR4X memory underscores the company’s commitment to providing long-term support to customers by offering a range of innovative products and technologies tailored for automotive applications. This move is aimed at ensuring a stable supply chain and bolstering support for ecosystem partners leveraging the Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform.

In addition to the LPDDR4X memory, Samsung is actively working on the development of its next-generation automotive LPDDR5 memory. Samples of the LPDDR5 product are anticipated to be accessible by the fourth quarter of this year. The LPDDR5 memory is designed to support the highest speed currently available in the automotive memory market, reaching speeds of up to 9.6 gigabits-per-second (Gbps), even under extreme temperature conditions.
