TDK has launched the industry’s highest capacity multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) at 1250V in a 3225 form factor.
The 10nF CGA and C MLCC series measures 3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 mm with C0G characteristics with a Class I dielectric.
C0G characteristic products change their capacitance only slightly over temperature and voltage, making them suitable for high-voltage snubber circuits.
More circuits using silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs are being adopted at higher voltages and currents, requiring more stable high-voltage resonant and snubber capacitors. The higher capacitance also reduces the number of MLCC devices needed in series, contributing to space-saving designs.

- Highest MLCC capacitance at 100V
Compared to TDK’s previous MLCC products, the new devices can reduce the heat generated and thus contributes to prevent excessive heat in the applications.
CGA is for automotive, and C is for commercial. Samples are available now.
