Aqara Introduces Spatial Intelligence to Smart Homes at IFA 2025

Aqara is making spatial intelligence a focal point of its upcoming smart home solutions, showcasing a wide array of new products and platform enhancements at IFA 2025 in Berlin. The product lineup covers security, energy management, and interoperability, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven sensing and automation.

Advancing Home Security with AI-Powered Devices

The flagship product is the Doorbell Camera G400 (Wired), a PoE- or low-voltage-powered device equipped with a 2K sensor, full-body coverage, IP65 rating, and AI detection capabilities for faces, packages, vehicles, and animals. It is compatible with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant, offering versatile storage options.

Additionally, two surveillance prototypes are making their debut. The Camera G510 (Battery) is Aqara’s first solar-powered, battery-operated outdoor camera, while the Home Station M410 serves as a central IoT hub, extending camera coverage and battery life while providing ample local video storage and Matter hub functionality.

Energy Efficiency and Interoperability Enhancements

On the energy front, Aqara unveiled the Radiator Thermostat W600, a dual Thread/Zigbee device with a two-year battery life and broader valve compatibility, along with the Climate Sensor W100 for optimized indoor climate control.

The company is also expanding its H2 series of smart plugs and outlets for the EU and UK markets, including the Wall Outlet H2 UK with USB-C fast charging, the Power Plug H2, and the Outdoor Plug H2 EU. A prototype of the Power Strip H2 EU was also showcased. All these products feature Matter support and power monitoring for automation purposes.

Interoperability is addressed through the introduction of the new Hub M200, a multi-protocol Matter controller supporting Thread, Zigbee, dual-band Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and infrared. It serves as a bridge for Aqara Zigbee devices into Matter systems while also functioning as a 360° IR blaster for legacy devices.

Platform and Cloud Enhancements

Besides hardware innovations, Aqara is revamping its Aqara Home app with a “Soft Sensor” feature that utilizes AI to deduce room occupancy, along with an upgraded automation engine featuring WHEN-IF-THEN logic and batch controls. Local LAN control via edge hubs enhances responsiveness and resilience during internet disruptions.

On the cloud front, HomeGuardian now offers cloud AI detection, video summarization powered by vision-language models, and more detailed push notifications with snapshots.
