NAND Revenues Show 2.9% Growth in Q3

According to a recent report by TrendForce, Q3 NAND shipments experienced a 2.9% increase, reaching a total value of $9.2 billion. This growth was primarily driven by a 3% quarter-on-quarter increase in bit shipments.

Among the major players in the NAND Flash market, Samsung saw a slight decrease of 1-3% in shipped bits. However, this was offset by a 1-3% increase in average selling price (ASP), resulting in a stabilization of Q3 NAND Flash revenue at $2.9 billion.

Kioxia, on the other hand, experienced a 3% increase in Q3 ASP. Unfortunately, this was accompanied by a significant 10-15% decrease in shipped bits, leading to a dip in NAND Flash revenue to $1.34 billion. This marked an 8.6% decline quarter-on-quarter.

Micron managed to maintain bit shipments from Q2, but a 15% drop in ASP caused a slight slip in revenue to $1.15 billion. This represented a 5.2% decrease quarter-on-quarter for the company.

Hynix, however, saw a steady increase in bit shipments, which contributed to a significant 11.9% uptick in Q3 NAND Flash revenue, reaching $1.86 billion.

Lastly, Western Digital Corporation (WDC) experienced a notable growth in Q3 NAND revenues, with a 13% quarter-on-quarter increase, bringing their total revenue to $1.6 billion.
