iWave, a leading provider of embedded solutions, has recently announced the launch of its new system-on-modules (SoMs) built around Intel's Agilex 5 E-series FPGAs. These SoMs are equipped with advanced AI algorithm support, making them ideal for a wide range of applications.

The flagship product in this lineup is the iW-RainboW-G58M, which boasts a compact form factor measuring just 60 x 70mm. It is available with any of the 5 E-series ICs that come in Intel's B32A (32x32mm) package. This flexibility allows customers to choose the specific FPGA that best suits their requirements.

"The Agilex 5 system-on-module is an ideal building block for equipment used in wireless communications, video, broadcast, and industrial test and measurement sectors," stated iWave. "The SoM supports 24 transceivers up to 28 Gbps, a PCIe Gen 4 connectivity interface, and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PHY transceiver."

Depending on the model, these SoMs offer a range of additional features. These include a dual-core 1.8GHz 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 processor, a dual-core 64-bit 1.5GHz Cortex-A55 processor, up to 656,000 logic cells, 4GB LPDDR4 for HPS, dual 4GB LPDDR4 for the FPGA, 32GB eMMC, and 1Gbit QSPI configuration flash. These specifications ensure high performance and efficient operation in various applications.

To facilitate the development process, iWave also provides an evaluation board that offers interface connectors and other necessary support for the SoM. This includes a 2.5Gbit Ethernet RJ45 port, a Gbit Ethernet RJ45 port, a PCIe Gen4 x4 slot, a 20-pin header for UART, SPI, and GPIOs, a USB Type-C port, and DisplayPort and HDMI connectors.

One of the key advantages of iWave's SoMs is their long product longevity. "iWave maintains a product longevity program that ensures the system-on-modules are available for 10+ years," emphasized iWave. This commitment to long-term availability provides customers with peace of mind and ensures that their designs can be supported for an extended period.

With the introduction of its system-on-modules built around Intel's Agilex 5 E-series FPGAs, iWave continues to deliver innovative solutions that empower developers and engineers in various industries. These SoMs offer advanced AI algorithm support, high-performance features, and long-term availability, making them an excellent choice for a wide range of applications.
