Advantech, a leading technology company, has unveiled its latest innovation in the form of a fan-less edge computer designed specifically for kiosks and robotics. The new device, named ARK-3533, is powered by Intel's 12th and 13th generation Core ix desktop processors, offering up to 35W of processing power.

The compact ARK-3533 measures 200 x 75 x 215mm and operates on a wide voltage range of 9 to 36Vdc. One of its standout features is its shock-resistant design, allowing it to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 60°C. This durability makes it an ideal choice for robotics and intelligent control management, particularly for AI inference tasks.

The ARK-3533 boasts an impressive array of I/Os, providing connectivity for over 24 devices. These include eight USB ports, eight COM ports, four Gbit LAN ports, an audio jack, and dual 4K HDMI 2.0 connectors. With such extensive connectivity options, the device offers flexibility and versatility for various applications.

Under the hood, the ARK-3533 is equipped with a choice of Intel Core i3, i5, i7, or i9 processors, paired with dual DDR5 4,800MHz SODIMMs, allowing for a maximum memory capacity of 64Gbyte. The device also features M.2 slots for 5G and Wi-Fi, as well as bays for two 2.5-inch SATA III hard drives, providing ample storage space.

In addition to its impressive hardware specifications, the ARK-3533 comes pre-configured with Advantech's robotics SDK (software design kit). This SDK offers a containerized framework for the development, deployment, and management of ROS (Robot Operating System) systems, along with pre-validated peripheral sensors. The kit also includes communication middleware, MPIs (message-passing interfaces), and utilities for sensor integration, visualization, and control.
