According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), November semiconductor sales reached $48 billion, marking a 5.3% increase compared to November 2022's total of $45.6 billion. Additionally, it showed a 2.9% growth compared to October 2023's total of $46.6 billion.

SIA CEO John Neuffer expressed optimism about the global chip market, stating, "Global semiconductor sales increased on a year-to-year basis in November for the first time since August 2022, an indication that the global chip market is continuing to gain strength as we enter the new year." Neuffer also projected double-digit growth for the global semiconductor market in 2024.

Regionally, year-to-year sales saw positive growth in China (7.6%), Asia Pacific/All other (7.1%), Europe (5.6%), and the Americas (3.5%). However, Europe experienced a slight decline of -2.8%. On a month-to-month basis, sales increased in China (4.4%), the Americas (3.9%), and Asia Pacific/All Other (3.5%). Conversely, Japan (-0.7%) and Europe (-2.0%) saw a decrease in sales.

The positive year-to-year growth in semiconductor sales across various regions indicates a promising outlook for the industry. China, in particular, has shown significant growth, with both year-to-year and month-to-month sales increases. This suggests a strong demand for semiconductors in the country, which is a positive sign for the global market.

While Europe experienced a decline in year-to-year sales, the month-to-month increase in the Americas and Asia Pacific/All Other regions indicates a potential recovery. These regions may see further growth in the coming months as the demand for semiconductors continues to rise.

Overall, the November semiconductor sales figures demonstrate the resilience and strength of the global chip market. With projections of double-digit growth in 2024, the industry is poised for further expansion and innovation in the years to come.
