HighTec EDV-Systeme, a leading technology company based in Germany, has recently unveiled an exciting new offering in collaboration with Infineon Technologies. The 'evaluation bundle' introduced by HighTec is centered around the cutting-edge Aurix TC4x microcontroller from Infineon Technologies.

The MCAL evaluation bundle is designed to streamline the Autosar development process specifically for the latest Aurix TC4x multicore automotive microcontroller family. By consolidating all the essential tools into a single package, HighTec and Infineon aim to simplify and enhance the development experience for software engineers working on advanced automotive projects.

The Aurix TC4x controllers cater to a wide range of applications, including zone and domain controller projects, as well as engine management systems. The MCAL Evaluation Bundle comprises the TC4x BASIC MCAL Package, which includes crucial drivers for hardware abstraction, along with the EB tresos tool for seamless configuration and integration.

A key component of the bundle is HighTec's automotive-grade LLVM-based TriCore C/C++ compiler. This compiler, tailored for the TriCore architecture, is not only optimized for performance but also holds an ISO 26262 ASIL D qualification, making it ideal for safety-critical applications based on TC4x microcontrollers.

Furthermore, the integrated development environment (IDE) bundled with the package features an integrated debugger, further simplifying the coding and testing processes for engineers. The inclusion of project examples, along with comprehensive documentation and a user-friendly MCAL GUI, complements the AURIX TC4x MCAL Evaluation Bundle, providing a holistic development environment.

Thomas Schneid, Senior Director of Software, Partnership & Ecosystem Management at Infineon, expressed his enthusiasm about the new offering, stating, "The Aurix TC4x MCAL Evaluation Bundle will greatly enhance our AURIX ecosystem. It extends our ease-of-use approach to the AURIX MCALs and reduces the setup time for software development engineers. We are happy to cooperate on this with our long-term partner HighTec, who provides a highly optimized LLVM based TC4x compiler and excellent technical support, including AUTOSAR and MCAL."

Mario Cupelli, the Chief Technology Officer of HighTec EDV-Systeme, highlighted the productivity benefits of the bundle, saying, "With this one-stop-shop bundle approach, we boost the productivity of engineers to evaluate MCALs and AUTOSAR on Aurix TC4x. Together with our highly optimized C/C++ and Rust compiler, we provide efficient and dependable tools for AURIX, including support for integrated co-processors such as PPU. This aligns with our strategy of offering safe and secure solutions based on innovative open-source technologies."

The Aurix TC4x MCAL Evaluation Bundle is now available from HighTec, offering a three-month evaluation license with the option to extend. For more information and to access the bundle, visit here.
