Enerpoly, a pioneering energy company based in Stockholm, has recently unveiled the world's first megafactory dedicated to zinc ion battery cells and packs. This state-of-the-art facility is set to revolutionize the energy industry by providing sustainable and innovative solutions for renewable energy storage.

The megafactory, known as the Enerpoly Production Innovation Center (EPIC), spans an impressive 6,500m² in Rosersberg, northern Stockholm. With plans to reach full capacity of 100MWh by 2026, Enerpoly aims to establish a fully European supply chain for zinc ion battery cells and packs, catering to a wide range of commercial, industrial, and utility applications.

Earlier this year, Enerpoly made a strategic move by acquiring cutting-edge dry anode end-to-end battery production technology from local competitor Nilar. This acquisition has enabled Enerpoly to enhance its production capabilities and streamline the manufacturing process for zinc ion batteries.

According to Eloisa de Castro, the CEO of Enerpoly, the new manufacturing facility signifies a significant milestone in the company's journey towards sustainable innovation. De Castro emphasized the importance of meeting the increasing demand for renewable energy storage solutions and highlighted the potential for collaboration with utilities and battery system integrators worldwide.

With a strong foundation in battery chemistry research at Stockholm University, Enerpoly has developed patented battery cell technology that prioritizes affordability, sustainability, and safety. The company's zinc-ion batteries are designed for a variety of applications, including grid or large-scale storage, backup power, and safety-critical uses in maritime, infrastructure, and urban settings.
