Quantum Dice Ltd., a pioneer of quantum random number generator (QRNG) technology, has signed a cooperation agreement with SCI Semiconductor Ltd. (Cambridge, England), a developer of secure semiconductor systems.

Quantum Dice is a 2020 spin-out from the University of Oxford while SCI Semiconductor was founded in 2023.

The two companies have agreed to collaborateon quantam-backed cryptography for long-lifetime, high-integrity, and high-availability semiconductor systems. Areas of application include but are not limited to smart energy and critical infrastructure, aerospace and defence, telecommunications, automotive, industry 4.0, and medical electronics.

The partnership will combine Quantum Dice’s quantum random number generator (QRNG) technology with SCI Semiconductor’s silicon design and CHERI (Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions) technology.

Ramy Shelbaya, CEO and co-founder of Quantum Dice, said: “The security of the smart solutions that are being deployed everywhere from our energy infrastructure to our defence systems is rapidly becoming an essential part of the conversation around the future of the digital era.”

Haydn Povey, CEO of SCI Semiconductor, said: “Systems based on MemSafe CHERI technology are central to resolving over 70 percent of modern vulnerabilities, however, with the integration of high-grade quantum entropy we believe the industry now stands on the edge of providing long-term security resolutions for a raft of operational technologies that will underpin net-zero smart energy distribution and consumption; next generation defense applications; and future autonomous automotive platforms.”
