Binder Introduces New Panel Mount Parts for UL 2237 Standard
Binder, a leading manufacturer of electrical components, has recently unveiled their latest additions to the M12 series 824 and 823. These panel mount parts, designed with K and L coding, have been specifically developed to meet the specifications of the UL 2237 standard.
UL 2237 is a crucial requirement for power supply components intended for control cabinets in North America. The new parts from Binder include 5-pin male and female panel mount connectors with screw locking, ensuring they meet the protection degree criteria of IP68.
These M12 components find their main application areas in electrical and plant engineering, as well as industrial controls. With the introduction of the panel mount parts featuring K and L coding, Binder aims to provide a comprehensive solution for various power supply needs.
The company explains the significance of the K and L coding as follows: "According to the DIN EN 61076-2-111 standard, K coding indicates 5-pin M12 connectors for power supply to AC applications such as drives or frequency converters. These connectors are rated for a voltage of 630 V(AC) and a current limit of 12 A. On the other hand, the L coding is specifically designed for DC applications up to 63 V(DC) and 16 A. This coding is suitable for smaller motors or fieldbus devices in the industrial-automation sector."
One of the key features of these panel mount parts is their mechanical lifespan, which is rated at over 100 mating cycles. Additionally, they can withstand extreme temperature conditions, with the Series 824 rated for -40/+85 °C and the Series 823 rated for -40/+105 °C.
