Bourns, a leading provider of circuit protection solutions, has expanded its portfolio with the addition of 20 Multifuse polymer PTC resettable fuses in 1206 packages. The new Model MF-NSMF series offers higher power ratings and a compact footprint, providing designers with more options for over current and over temperature protection.
One of the key features of the new fuses is Bourns' freeXpansion technology, which allows the fuse to handle higher currents and voltages while improving resistance stability. This technology ensures reliable performance and enhances the overall durability of the fuses.
The MF-NSMF family now offers a total of 34 options, including a wide range of hold current (Ihold) options from 0.05A to 2.0A and multiple elevated rated voltage (Vmax) options from 6Vdc to 60Vdc. These fuses are specifically designed for over current and over temperature protection in low DC voltage ports commonly found in USB, HDMI, HDTV, PCs, laptops, data centers, and portable consumer electronics.
Furthermore, the 1206 package size of the new fuses provides significant advantages for designers. Bourns states that the package size saves 67% of board space compared to the larger 1812 package size, making it an ideal choice for applications with limited board real estate or where size and cost reduction are critical factors.
The Multifuse polymer PTC resettable fuses are now available and are compliant with RoHS regulations and halogen-free, ensuring they meet the latest environmental standards.
