Ceva, a leading provider of wireless connectivity and smart sensing technologies, has announced the availability of its RivieraWaves Wi-Fi 7 IP platform for Access Point applications. This platform leverages the latest advanced features of the IEEE 802.11be standard, making it ideal for integration into the next wave of Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) and Station (STA) products.

One of the key features of Wi-Fi 7 is its 4K QAM modulation scheme, which is a substantial increase from the previous 1K QAM of Wi-Fi 6. This allows for higher data rates and improved performance. Additionally, Wi-Fi 7 introduces Multi Link Operation (MLO), which enables dynamic channel aggregation. This means that heterogenous channels from the same or different bands can be combined to navigate interference and boost throughput.

Another important feature of Wi-Fi 7 is Multi Resource Units (MRU), which allows for the creation of larger channel bandwidths. By intelligently stitching together punctured or disjointed Resource Units within the same band, MRU enables higher data rates and reduced latency. This is achieved through diminished contentions and retries, resulting in a remarkable up to 5 times increase in raw speeds.

The RivieraWaves Wi-Fi 7 IP platform offers these key features and more. It provides a comprehensive solution for Access Point applications, delivering high-performance Wi-Fi connectivity for a wide range of devices. With an optimised Station implementation set to arrive later this year, Ceva is ensuring that its platform meets the needs of both AP and STA products.
