Delta, a leading provider of power and energy management solutions, has unveiled a host of cutting-edge technologies at the Hannover Fair this week. Among the highlights are a digital twin of its power factory, a new generation of collaboration robots (cobots) for smart factory automation, and a 500kW DC ultra-fast charger for electric vehicles (EV).

The Delta cobots are designed for quick deployment and easy operation, featuring plug-and-play functionality and intuitive programming. This advancement enhances Delta's capabilities in smart factory automation, addressing the industry's growing demand for flexibility and efficiency.

The cobot lineup offers payload capacities of up to 30 kg, reach spans of up to 1800 mm, and compatibility with EtherCAT, CODESYS, and Modbus for precise performance in tasks like pick & place, palletizing, and welding. Additionally, the digital twin developed on Nvidia's Omniverse platform streamlines the simulation process for tray and object detection on a demo robotic line, improving synthetic data generation capabilities and optimizing factory operations.

One of the key attractions at the fair is Delta's fast-charging station application, featuring the UFC500 500kW DC heavy-duty EV charger introduced last month. This charger is tailored for fleet and public charging needs, utilizing the DeltaGrid EVM for managing prioritization, scheduling, and configurable power limits during charging.

The UFC500 can charge a single heavy-duty electric vehicle, such as an e-truck or e-bus, with a large battery capacity at 460 kW power within just 2 hours, providing ample driving range for a full day of operation. Vincent Lin, Vice President of eMobility and Smart Energy Solutions at Delta EMEA, emphasized the UFC500's ultra-fast charging capabilities and its ability to alleviate grid pressure through integration with Delta's EV charging management system and energy storage solutions.

Designed for seamless system integration, the UFC500 includes network connectivity, backward compatibility, and advanced energy management features. It also incorporates a sophisticated cable management system mounted on top of the charging station to safeguard against damage, with a moving arm extending the charging cable's reach up to four meters.
