Effortless UHF System Development with 2-W Linear Power Amplifier

The CMX90A006 power amplifier is designed to serve as a final-stage ISM (915 MHz) and SRD (868 MHz) band power amplifier in various wireless transmitter applications. This two-stage indium gallium phosphide (InGaP) device is packaged to deliver +33 dBm output power at 1 dB gain compression across the 860 to 930 MHz frequency range, making it suitable for a wide range of multi-market applications that operate in license-free bands.

Operating over a broad 2.5 to 5.25 V supply voltage range, the CMX90A006 allows for system-level optimization and can be powered by a single-cell Lithium battery, making it ideal for portable applications. Fabricated using advanced InGaP HBT process technology, this power amplifier offers excellent reliability, efficiency, gain, and linearity performance. It achieves 52% PAE, 33 dB of small signal gain, and +42 dBm output third-order intercept (OIP3) at 26 dBm per tone.

Housed in a 4- x 4-mm thermally enhanced Very-thin-profile Quad Flat No-lead (VQFN) package, the CMX90A006 is designed for easy integration into space-constrained designs. The RF input port of the device is internally matched to 50 Ω to reduce component count. Engineers can utilize the EV90A006 evaluation board, which includes the output matching network to optimize performance for their specific application.
