From Kitchen Table to Market: CEF Turns Innovation into a Product

CEF, the electrical wholesaler and supplier, has recently introduced a new product to its range. The JAKODA Socket Tester Holder, created by Duncan Thomson, is now available for purchase at over 400 CEF branches and online.

Duncan, an electrician, identified a common problem faced by professionals in the industry - socket testers getting damaged when carried in tool bags. After experiencing frustration and having to replace damaged testers, Duncan decided to find a solution. Using components sourced from his local CEF Bideford branch, he ingeniously put together the STH (Socket Tester Holder) at his kitchen table.

After introducing his creation to his local store and sharing it on his Instagram page, Surf Bay Spark, the JAKODA Holder quickly gained popularity among tradesmen in his area and across the UK. As demand grew, Duncan continued producing the holders at home. Eventually, he caught the attention of Super Rod, one of CEF's suppliers, who approached him to collaborate.

This partnership has resulted in the JAKODA Holder being produced and sold in all of CEF's 400+ branches nationwide, as well as on the brand's website. This means that tradespeople all over the UK now have access to this innovative product.

Steve Palmer, Duncan's account manager at CEF Bideford, expressed his pride in being part of the journey: "For the past couple of years, we have been supplying Duncan with parts for his JAKODA project.
