MIKROE has recently unveiled the LTE IoT 10 Click, a compact add-on board designed to provide reliable LTE-M and NB-IoT connectivity for industrial and commercial IoT applications. This new addition to the extensive mikroBUS™-enabled Click board™ family features the Monarch GM02S, a dual-mode LTE-M/NB-IoT module from Sequans that supports global operation across a wide range of bands.
According to Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE, the LTE IoT 10 Click is well-suited for a variety of applications including smart meters, industrial sensors, asset tracking, smart home and city applications, wearables, and healthcare monitoring that require power-efficient cellular IoT connectivity.
Olivier Pauzet, EVP of Marketing and Strategy at Sequans, highlighted the ease of innovation and product design enabled by the Monarch GM02S module and the Click embedded development environment. Developers can now quickly create new IoT products with this flagship module.
The Monarch GM02S module boasts low power consumption, global band support, 3GPP LTE Release 14 compliance (upgradeable to Release 17), embedded IP stack with multiple protocol support, and +23 dBm transmission power. It allows for seamless switching between LTE-M and NB-IoT modes. To facilitate development, the LTE IoT 10 Click includes UART and JTAG interfaces for debugging and firmware upgrades, along with features like a wake button, reset functionality, visual status indicators, an SMA connector for LTE antennas, and a micro SIM card slot.
Compatible with the mikroBUS™ socket, the LTE IoT 10 Click can be used on any host system that supports the mikroBUS™ standard. It comes equipped with the mikroSDK open-source libraries, offering flexibility for evaluation and customization. Additionally, the Click board incorporates the innovative ClickID feature, allowing the host system to seamlessly detect and identify the add-on board automatically.
