US startup Hubble Network has made history by achieving the first-ever Bluetooth connection directly to space. The groundbreaking feat was accomplished when Hubble's initial two satellites were launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in March. These satellites have successfully received signals from a Bluetooth chip in low earth orbit at a distance of 600 km.

This remarkable demonstration comes on the heels of the company's $20 million Series A funding round last year. The funding was secured to establish a network tailored for the Internet of Things (IoT) that eliminates the need for custom chips, setting a new standard in connectivity.

Traditional networks have long grappled with challenges such as limited coverage, intricate integrations, high battery consumption, and exorbitant costs, which have constrained their practicality and reach. By enabling any off-the-shelf Bluetooth-enabled device to connect directly to Hubble's satellite network without relying on cellular reception, this innovative technology offers global coverage, reduces battery drain by 20 times, and slashes operating costs by 50 times.

This groundbreaking achievement marks a significant milestone in the realm of technology.
