Abaco Systems has introduced its latest analogue front-end mezzanine card designed specifically for software defined radio applications, as well as electronic warfare, radar, and test and measurement purposes. The new card, named FMC300, boasts an impressive 7GHz of usable analogue bandwidth, making it a versatile solution for a range of high-performance tasks. It features multiple channels that can deliver up to 12-bit 6Gsample/s ADC and up to 16-bit 12Gsample/s DAC through a JESD204B/C interface.

Data conversion on the FMC300 is powered by Analogue Devices' high-quality analogue front-end ICs, providing users with a choice of cutting-edge components to suit their specific needs. When combined with FPGA carrier cards like the VP891, the FMC300 offers customers a robust platform to tackle even the most challenging requirements when developing modern DSP systems.

The VP891, Abaco's configurable processor board, is equipped with a Xilinx Virtex UltraScale+ or Zynq UltraScale+ FPGA. It supports high-speed data plane connections with 40 and 100Gbit Ethernet, a PCIe Gen3 x4 expansion plane, and Ethernet control plane links to a host computer. Additionally, users have the option to include 100Gbit Ethernet optical interfaces for enhanced connectivity.

For seamless integration, the front-end board features a VITA 57.4 connector to facilitate high-speed interfacing. Abaco has ensured that the FMC300 offers flexibility in terms of clock source, sampling frequency, and calibration options. The board is equipped with individual calibration circuits that enable precise adjustments for gain, offset, and phase, allowing users to fine-tune performance according to their requirements.

Established over three decades ago, Abaco Systems, a part of Ametek, is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with manufacturing facilities in both Huntsville and Towcester, UK. The company's commitment to innovation and quality is evident in the development of products like the FMC300, which aims to provide customers with advanced solutions for demanding applications in the field of signal processing and communication.
