Ampleon has recently unveiled the latest additions to its power transistor lineup with the introduction of the ART2K5TFUS and ART2K5TPU models. These new transistors are specifically designed to cater to the needs of next-generation high-power industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) applications. By expanding its already impressive ART portfolio, Ampleon now offers a comprehensive range of high breakdown voltage and rugged Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) options, with power outputs ranging from 1600 W to 2500 W.
The ART2K5Tx transistors are housed in push-pull air cavity ceramic (ACC) and overmolded plastic (OMP) packages, ensuring reliable Class AB performance of up to 2500 W across a wide frequency range from 1 MHz to 400 MHz. The ACC package provides superior reliability and enhanced power cycling ruggedness, while the OMP packages offer a cost-effective alternative for certain applications.
One of the key features of these new transistors is their exceptional ruggedness, highlighted by an impressive 65:1 VSWR capability. This ruggedness is crucial for withstanding the demanding dynamic loads encountered in various applications such as plasma generators, CO2 laser drivers, particle accelerators, UHF radars, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners, and FM/VHF transmitters.
Ampleon's ART power transistors are known for their almost infinite operational lifespan and minimal degradation of electrical parameters over time, ensuring unmatched reliability even in the most challenging environments. Additionally, these transistors come equipped with integrated temperature sensors, operate at a high 75 V to reduce DC current demand, and achieve exceptional drain efficiency levels ranging from 80% to over 90%, depending on the class of operation.
