The MXO 5C series oscilloscope by Rohde & Schwarz is revolutionizing the world of test systems with its compact form factor and cutting-edge technology. Standing at just 2U vertical height, equivalent to 3.5 inches or 8.9 cm, this instrument offers engineers a versatile solution for applications where space is limited. Whether deployed in high channel density environments or used as a high-speed digitizer, the MXO 5C is a game-changer in the industry.

Building on the success of the MXO oscilloscopes, the MXO 5C series features the latest MXO-EP processing ASIC technology, providing engineers with the fastest acquisition capture rate in the world of up to 4.5 million acquisitions per second. This unparalleled speed allows users to capture real-time signal activity with up to 99% accuracy, enabling them to analyze signal details and infrequent events like never before.

Philip Diegmann, Vice President Oscilloscopes at Rohde & Schwarz, highlighted the versatility of the MXO 5C, stating, “With the MXO 5C, we have created a unique instrument that caters to both rack mount and bench usage scenarios. The compact form factor of the MXO 5C allows for a high channel count in a small space, making it ideal for applications such as physics research where channel density is crucial.”

While designed primarily for rack mount applications, the MXO 5C can also function as a stand-alone bench oscilloscope. Users have the flexibility to connect an external display using the built-in DisplayPort and HDMI connectors or access the instrument’s GUI via a web interface by entering the oscilloscope’s IP address in their browser. Additionally, the MXO 5C is the first oscilloscope to feature E-ink display technology, ensuring critical information remains visible even when the power is off.

The MXO 5C series is available in four and eight-channel models, with bandwidth options ranging from 100 MHz to 2 GHz. Users can enhance the capabilities of the instrument with various upgrade options, including 16 digital channels with a mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) option, an integrated dual-channel 100 MHz arbitrary generator, protocol decode and triggering options for industry-standard buses, and a frequency response analyzer. The MXO 5C series is truly a versatile and powerful tool for engineers across industries.
