Edgecore Networks in China has launched a WiFi 7 access point that supports data rates up to 9.34Gbit/s and IoT protocols for smart buildings.

The EAP105 WiFi 7 (802.11be) tri-band access point supports 2x2x2:2 MU-MIMO in high-density environments such as offices, apartments, coffee shops, and university dormitories.

It has WPA3 encryption, Layer 2 firewalls, DHCP snooping, and ARP inspection, ensuring secure data transmission and preventing unauthorized access.

The QoS (Quality of Service) includes RSSI threshold and multicast-to-unicast conversion features as well as RRM (Radio Resource Management) functionality. This allows users to configure automated channel scanning or schedule targeted scans of specific channel via the cloud. This optimization improves the efficiency of Radius resource allocation without affecting wireless network performance.

It also supports a range of IoT integrations such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, and Matter protocols for smart building solutions and location-based services as well as OpenRoaming and OpenMesh, further enhancing its flexibility in deployment and integration.

The EAP105 supports flexible deployment models and can be managed through Edgecore’s ecCLOUD, ecCLOUD-VPC, or EWS/VEWS series controllers, or it can operate in standalone mode for smaller deployments.

The device also includes zero-touch provisioning, allowing for quick and easy setup without manual intervention, further reducing installation time and costs. Additionally, the EAP105 will also support TIP OpenWiFi and can be managed and configured through the CloudSDK controller, offering customers more diverse options for various application scenarios.
