Indie Semiconductor has introduced new capabilities to enhance the in-cabin experience for automakers, providing global Tier 1 system integrators with a range of cutting-edge products. These offerings aim to deliver best-in-class in-vehicle experiences by leveraging innovative technology.

One key aspect of these new products is their ability to effectively interpret and present high-bandwidth data for various in-cabin applications. This includes support for multi-screen, multi-zone setups for audio-video entertainment, as well as sensor information for parking and safety features. The family of system-on-chip (SoC) converters and retimer products are designed to cater to the diverse interfaces required by these applications, such as DisplayPort, USB, HDMI, and LVDS.

Market research from S&P Mobility indicates a significant growth in in-vehicle displays, with projections exceeding 140 million units by 2028. This trend represents a substantial semiconductor opportunity valued at over $9 billion. As consumer expectations for interactive in-cabin experiences rise, the automotive industry must adapt by enhancing the bandwidth, quality, and responsiveness of in-vehicle graphics, audio, and video.

Fred Jarrar, vice president and general manager of indie's Power Delivery Business Unit, highlighted the increasing volume of data available to drivers and passengers within the vehicle. With the prevalence of screens for infotainment and safety features in modern cars, consumers are demanding a seamless and engaging experience. Indie's smart connectivity SoCs are positioned to meet these demands, enabling automakers to provide immersive in-cabin experiences.

By offering high-performance and integrated products, indie is supporting tier 1 system integrators and automakers in meeting the evolving needs of drivers and passengers. This strategic approach aims to capitalize on the growing demand for enhanced in-cabin experiences, positioning indie as a key player in the rapidly expanding Autotech sector.
