Intel’s global startup accelerator program for early-stage deep tech startups is set to kick off its seventh cohort in Europe next week. The Intel Ignite programme, based in Munich, Germany, will welcome startups from across Europe. The upcoming cohort consists of 10 startups hailing from Germany, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. These startups were carefully selected from a pool of 300 companies representing 25 countries. The 12-week program is scheduled to commence on April 22nd.

According to Intel, deep tech has emerged as the largest venture capital funding category in Europe and is recognized for its resilience. Markus Bohl, Managing Director of Intel Ignite Europe, emphasized the program's pivotal role in nurturing the European startup ecosystem. Bohl stated, “Intel Ignite, with its focus on deep tech, is at the very core of the European startup landscape and plays a central role in fostering and nurturing the startup ecosystem in Europe.”

The startups participating in the seventh European cohort boast an average funding of €7 million. Their expertise spans a wide array of technologies, ranging from semiconductor manufacturing, silicon, and photonics to memory compression, data streaming, and AI processing. These technologies find applications in diverse sectors such as robotics and satellite technology.

Bohl expressed his enthusiasm for the potential impact of the startups in the latest cohort, stating, “From AI-based multi-sensor data analysis and autonomous systems to addressing the chip manufacturing, data processing, and computer vision needs of the future, the startups in our latest cohort have the ability to change the world.” He added, “The innovations they have developed are poised to disrupt entire industries in a sustainable way, and we are excited to go on this journey with them to help them accelerate the growth and development of their companies.”

Since its inception in 2019, the Intel Ignite programme has facilitated participating companies in securing over $2.5 billion in funding. Tzahi (Zack) Weisfeld, VP & GM at Intel Ignite, highlighted the thriving nature of the European tech ecosystem, which was recently valued at $3 trillion in the latest State of European Tech report. Weisfeld emphasized the program's mission to support and foster the ecosystem, stating, “With these 10 disruptive startups joining Intel Ignite in Europe this spring, we are looking forward to not only working with them to help them find their go-to-market fit and increase their valuations and grow revenue, but also to empower the founders to do these faster and cheaper than they would have on their own, and to become key pillars in that continuously-growing ecosystem.”
