NIT, a renowned designer of wide dynamic range CMOS and InGaAs sensors, has recently been acquired by Lynred, a leading supplier of cameras for specialist applications. Established in 2007, NIT boasts a team of fewer than 50 employees, as per its Linkedin profile.
The acquisition marks a significant expansion of Lynred's product portfolio, particularly in the realm of large-format shortwave sensors with small pixel pitch. NIT stands out as the sole European company capable of manufacturing and marketing a SWIR HD1080p array and associated module featuring an 8-micron pixel size. The deal is anticipated to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2024, pending the fulfillment of customary conditions.
"The global demand for SWIR infrared imaging in machine vision and defense applications, such as laser detection and space exploration, is on the rise," remarked Hervé Bouaziz, the executive president at Lynred. "Given our aligned industrial supply chains and technical expertise, we are well-positioned to offer highly competitive SWIR imaging sensors and modules to our clientele," he added.
