TDK has expanded its 300W buck-boost DC-DC converter range by introducing adjustable current limit models. The latest addition to the TDK-Lambda i7C non-isolated DC-DC converter series offers a versatile solution for various applications.

The i7C series features a buck-boost board mount power module with input ranges of 9 up to 53Vdc. It allows for output voltage adjustment from 5 to 28V, 8 to 24V, or 9.6 to 48V, depending on the output current rating. This flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of voltage requirements.

One of the key features of the i7C topology is its seamless transition from buck to boost operation. The "Itrim" output current limit function enables parallel operation of modules for higher power needs, constant current operation, or stress reduction in scenarios where overloading may occur.

The i7C models are ideal for applications requiring high-power DC outputs from system voltages of 12, 24, and 48V. These include medical devices, automated guided vehicles (AGV), industrial mobile robots (IMR), drones, industrial equipment, test and measurement devices, as well as battery-powered equipment.

With efficiencies of up to 97%, the i7C converters minimize waste heat generation, allowing them to operate efficiently in demanding thermal environments. The control techniques employed by the i7C significantly reduce power consumption under light load conditions, ensuring optimal performance.
