Skylo Technologies has announced a partnership with SGS to provide a certification programme for end modules and devices used in its satellite network. This collaboration aims to leverage SGS's global network and expertise in compliance to streamline the device certification process for non-terrestrial networks. Facilities in San Diego and Taipei will work together to ensure that products meet Skylo's certification tests.

The certification process has already seen success with the Altair chipset from Sony Semiconductor Israel being certified for use in Skylo's satellite network. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of the partnership between Skylo Technologies and SGS in ensuring the compatibility and quality of devices for the network.

Charles Ly Wa Hoi, Head of Connectivity & Products and Health & Nutrition at SGS, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, "We are excited to partner with Skylo, a leader in direct-to-device Non-Terrestrial Network services, to be their first authorized test lab. This collaboration offers a one-stop shop for Skylo’s certification program and ensures that cellular chipsets, modems, modules, and devices seamlessly integrate with their network."

Dr. Andrew Nuttall, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Skylo Technologies, emphasized the importance of the partnership with SGS in ensuring device compatibility and network efficiency. He stated, "Our collaboration with SGS ensures devices are compatible, ready and able to seamlessly use our network, ensuring efficient use of spectrum and reduced friction for users everywhere."

With industries increasingly relying on satellite networks for critical operations, the need for reliable and certified devices is paramount. Skylo's satellite communication network is designed to offer consistent and dependable connectivity, especially in remote and underserved areas, without relying on carrier spectrum. The partnership with SGS will further enhance the network's capabilities and ensure high-quality standards for customers worldwide.
