Infineon Technologies has partnered with Roborock to supply a cutting-edge time of flight sensor for the latest robot vacuum innovation. The Saros Z70 vacuum, recently launched in Germany, boasts an industry-first 5-axis robot arm that can intelligently navigate around obstacles and clean previously hard-to-reach areas. This groundbreaking feature is made possible by the compact design of Infineon’s REAL3 Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology.

The REAL3 sensor, a result of collaboration with pmdtechnologies, is a remarkable 100 times smaller than traditional laser distance scanners. This miniaturization allows for the integration of the retractable robot arm without compromising the vacuum's sleek and slim profile. The addition of an extra Time-of-Flight camera from Infineon ensures precise and efficient operation of the robot arm, enabling it to clear obstructions and clean inaccessible spots.

Andreas Kopetz, Vice President of Ambient Sensing at Infineon, expressed excitement about the partnership with Roborock, a renowned leader in the robot vacuum industry. Kopetz highlighted the significance of Roborock leveraging Infineon's sensor technology to create a truly innovative product that sets new standards for consumers. This collaboration exemplifies Infineon's commitment to advancing sensor technology and its mission to enhance everyday life through strategic partnerships with customers and industry leaders.

Infineon's continuous innovation in sensor technology is further underscored by recent developments such as the merger of its sensor and RF businesses. This strategic move positions Infineon as a key player in the sensor market, driving advancements in various applications including 3D image sensors for facial recognition technology. By combining expertise in sensor technology with a focus on customer needs, Infineon is paving the way for safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions.

The successful integration of Infineon's Time-of-Flight sensor in the Saros Z70 vacuum represents a significant milestone in the evolution of robot vacuum cleaners. With the ability to navigate obstacles and clean previously inaccessible areas, this innovative product showcases the potential of sensor technology to revolutionize household chores. As Infineon continues to push the boundaries of sensor innovation, consumers can look forward to more intelligent and user-friendly solutions that enhance their daily lives.
