THIN Mini-ITX board boosts performance in 1U profile

Advantech has announced the AIMB-219, a THIN Mini-ITX board equipped with the latest Atom® platform and embedded OS support for Windows 10, Linux Ubuntu, DeviceOn.

The Mini-ITX board supports Atom® N-series, Atom® x7000RE, and Intel® Core™ i3 N-series processors. The Intel® Core™ i3-N305, the most powerful processor in the Atom® lineup, boasts a 2.5x improvement in computing performance over the processor in the previous AIMB-218. It features up to 8 cores, a burst frequency of 3.8 GHz, and a TDP of under 15 W. The Mini-ITX board is designed for quiet, stable, fanless operation over -20° to 70°C. The 1U height, low-profile board is ideal for space-limited systems.

The Mini-ITX board also features Intel® UHD Graphics based on Intel® Xe® architecture, with up to 32 EUs, offering double the 3D Mark performance and superior computational capabilities compared to the Intel® Core™ ULT processor (i3-8145U). Further, the classic Atom® N97 (part of the N-series) offers significant improvements, with a 1.6x increase in computing performance and a 2x boost in graphics performance compared to the previous Atom generation.

With components chosen for their resistance to extreme temperatures, the Mini-ITX board is ideal for factory automation and outdoor kiosks where temperature fluctuations are common, ensuring uninterrupted operation. The fanless design eliminates noise pollution, making the AIMB-219 more compact and suitable for mobile system integration. It is ideal for environments where quiet operation is essential, such as digital signage and in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVD).

Designed for space-constrained applications, the AIMB-219 integrates essential I/Os, including triple independent displays (1 x DP over USB Type-C, 1 x HDMI up to 4K, and 1 x LVDS or eDP), to enhance system configuration. The platform also features many expansion options, including M.2 B-Key and E-Key for wireless connections to simplify mobile device deployment. The board has three USB 3.2 Gen 2, five USB 2.0, a USB Type-C, and six COM ports.

Additionally, the AIMB-219 supports ccTalk and TTL protocols via serial port, providing stable data transmission and easing system integration for self-service kiosks and entertainment equipment. This THIN Mini-ITX board merges all these features within a 1U low-profile height, enhancing the aesthetics of any system.
