Keysight Technologies has combined three tools into a software platform designed to accelerate battery testing and design processes.
The PathWave Advanced Power Application Suite consolidates PathWave’s IV Curve Measurement software, Advanced Power Control and Analysis, and Advanced Battery Test and Emulation, into a single comprehensive test environment to tackle the increasing test challenges when it comes to battery design. Working with different batteries and creating custom models requires extensive testing. In addition, multiple instruments and software tools are needed, leading to complex setups, difficulties with data synchronization, and time-consuming workflows. This makes it difficult for engineers to replicate designs, increasing time to market.
The PathWave Advanced Power Application Suite can generate a dynamic current waveform in real time and seamlessly export data for battery profiles. In addition, with a comprehensive range of software solutions integrated, the platform is designed to enhance usability and accelerate development cycles.
Combining the three tools can simplify workflows as data to be shared between power control analysis and battery testing without switching between applications. Licenses can be purchased based on the number of connected instruments.
The PW9253A is an advanced tool designed to provide higher accuracy, repeatability, and safety by using emulation based on a unique battery model. It enables you to analyze your device’s power consumption, emulates real batteries, and imports existing battery models for testing. The software supports up to 10 instruments concurrently, enabling comprehensive and scalable testing solutions. The PW9253A analyses how a device consumes power and simulates actual battery performance and behaviour up to 200 kW and 2 kV. It can also profile batteries through charge / discharge cycles to create a unique battery model.
“The introduction of the PathWave Advanced Power Application Suite marks a milestone in battery testing technology. It enables engineers to achieve greater accuracy, repeatability, and safety to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s power solutions faster,” said Carol Leh, Vice President, Electronic Industrial Solutions Group at Keysight
