US startup Trident IoT is making waves in the tech industry with its upcoming launch of a cutting-edge Zigbee wireless chip later this year. The company, founded last year by three experienced engineers well-versed in various protocols such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread, Lora, and Matter, is gearing up for alpha testing and select customer previews in the next six months, with full deployment expected in early 2025.

The Trident IoT engineering team, boasting over a century of collective end-to-end product development experience, has meticulously designed the T32CM11 chip from the ground up to cater to the evolving needs of today's developers. This ultra-low power ARM Cortex-M3 based RF SoC features a 2.4GHz transceiver compliant with Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 and IEEE 802.15.4 requirements, supporting multiple protocols like Zigbee 3.0, Thread, Matter, and more for a wide range of applications.

In a recent funding round in April, Trident IoT secured $10 million, with entrepreneur Todd Pedersen, founder of a leading home security service provider in the US, leading the investment. Pedersen will also be joining the company's Board of Directors, bringing valuable insights and expertise to the table. Mariusz Malkowski, CTO and co-founder of Trident IoT, expressed his enthusiasm for the new chip and SDK, emphasizing their focus on streamlining IoT development processes.

Trident IoT's commitment to innovation doesn't stop there. The company is currently in the process of becoming an authorized test lab for the Connectivity Standards Alliance, the governing body overseeing the Matter protocol. This move underscores Trident IoT's dedication to ensuring compliance and certification for devices entering the market, aligning with industry standards and best practices.

As the tech world eagerly anticipates the official launch of Trident IoT's Zigbee chip and SDK, the company's presence at the upcoming Alliance Member Meeting is highly anticipated. Chris LaPré, Head of Technology at the Connectivity Standards Alliance, praised Trident IoT's contributions and upcoming technology showcases, highlighting the significance of their potential role as an authorized test lab within the Alliance.
