The recent strategic transaction between AMD and ZT Systems marks a significant milestone in AMD’s ongoing strategy to enhance its AI training and inferencing capabilities through innovation in silicon, software, and systems. This collaboration will enable cloud and enterprise customers to expedite the deployment of AMD-powered AI infrastructure on a large scale.

Based in Secaucus, New Jersey, ZT Systems boasts over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing data center AI compute and storage infrastructure for major global cloud companies. Their proficiency in design, integration, manufacturing, and deployment has positioned them as a leading provider of AI training and inference infrastructure.

Post-acquisition, ZT Systems will integrate into the AMD Data Center Solutions Business Group. Frank Zhang will oversee the manufacturing business, while Doug Huang will lead the design and customer enablement teams, both reporting to AMD Executive Vice President and General Manager Forrest Norrod. Additionally, AMD plans to find a strategic partner to acquire ZT Systems’ U.S.-based data center infrastructure manufacturing business.
