Binder, the industrial connector specialist, has announced the addition of protective caps to its NCC (Not Connected Closed) 670- and 770-series portfolio. This new development addresses the issue of connections having to be released for inspection or maintenance, which reduces the environmental protection during that period of work.

The protective cap ensures that the connectors meet the IP67 requirements of protection, even when the bayonet locking connector is unmated. By using spring-loaded plastic covers, the female panel mount parts are protected and the contacts are safely enclosed in the housing. With the introduction of the protective caps, the male cable connectors also achieve IP67 when unmated.

Binder highlights that the protective caps have a wide range of applications, including test equipment, metrology, lighting, signage, and other devices that require washability. This development provides a solution for industries that need to maintain environmental protection during maintenance or inspection periods.

The NCC 670- and 770-series portfolio with protective caps is designed to meet the demands of various industries. The caps ensure that the connectors are protected against dust and temporary immersion, even when they are not connected. This feature is particularly useful in environments where regular maintenance or inspection is required.

Binder's commitment to providing innovative solutions for connector protection is further demonstrated by the expansion of its M12 connector range. The company has introduced L-coding options, which offer additional protection and ensure the correct mating of connectors. These developments reflect Binder's dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
