UK consultancy ByteSnap Design has recently announced a strategic partnership with Particle, a leading edge-to-cloud infrastructure provider for the Internet of Things (IoT). This collaboration signifies a significant advancement in the realm of integrated IoT modules and gateways, according to Bytesnap.

The partnership between ByteSnap and Particle will leverage ByteSnap’s expertise in embedded systems development and Particle’s robust IoT infrastructure across various sectors such as healthcare, smart cities, and automotive. The primary goal of this collaboration is to streamline the IoT development process by offering embeddable modules and off-the-shelf gateways that seamlessly integrate into the Particle IoT Platform-as-a-Service.

One of the key objectives of this partnership is to facilitate the rapid deployment of smart, connected IoT systems. The initial focus will be on a millimetre wave (mmWave) sensor designed for non-invasive people tracking, showcasing the potential for innovative applications in this space.

Bytesnap has successfully integrated mmWave sensing technology with the Particle IoT platform to enable remote sensor management. A live demonstration featuring a "spinning head" mechanism demonstrates real-time movement tracking across a wide field of view, emphasizing its capability to monitor individuals and occupancy without compromising privacy.

The system utilizes the Photon 2 WiFi development board in conjunction with the IoT Platform-as-a-Service to transmit sensor data to the cloud for instant analytics, remote management, and diagnostics. By avoiding the use of cameras, personal data is never stored, ensuring data privacy and security.

Looking ahead, the partnership between ByteSnap Design and Particle is poised to kick off a series of collaborative development projects. One of the key initiatives includes the creation of an IoT module that offers enterprise-grade security and seamless integration across multiple platforms and devices.

ByteSnap Design has a proven track record of developing innovative IoT solutions for a diverse range of industries, including software for electric vehicle charging, smart home systems, environmental monitoring tools, healthcare devices, and agricultural technologies. Graeme Wintle, Director at ByteSnap Design, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the combined expertise of both companies in delivering integrated solutions that cater to the evolving needs of clients.
