TDK has introduced two new options for its 10W CCG isolated DC-DC converter series, specifically designed for use in challenging environments. These options aim to enhance the performance and versatility of the converters, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
One of the key features of the new options is a two-sided board coating that provides additional protection, making the converters ideal for harsh environments such as rail and industrial settings. This added protection ensures the reliability and durability of the converters, even in demanding operating conditions.
In addition to the enhanced board coating, TDK has also introduced a larger tray size for the surface mount models of the DC-DC converters. This 40-piece tray size makes it easier to handle and place the converters during installation, streamlining the assembly process for users.
Furthermore, the unencapsulated design of the DC-DC converter family eliminates the need for silicone potting compounds. This not only reduces the risk of quality issues associated with these materials but also simplifies the manufacturing and assembly processes, improving overall efficiency.
The TDK-Lambda CCG series offers a wide range of voltage and current combinations, catering to various power requirements. With outputs including 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and dual +/-12V and +/-15V options, the converters can support diverse applications with different voltage needs.
- Moreover, the dual output models can be configured to provide single 24V and 30V outputs, offering flexibility and versatility for users. The converters can operate from a broad input range of 4.5 to 18V, 9 to 36V, or 18 to 76Vdc, accommodating different power sources and simplifying inventory management.
Another notable feature of the CCG series is the availability of the first L class GaN DC-DC converter for space-constrained applications. With compact dimensions ranging from 15.7 x 10.4mm to 19 x 12.4mm, these units offer high power density while saving valuable board space.
Additionally, the converters come equipped with overcurrent protection and remote on/off functionality as standard features. The on/off function can be utilized to switch the converters to stand-by mode, reducing off-load power consumption to less than 0.1W and extending battery life in portable devices.
Designed to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 up to +100°C, the CCG DC-DC converter series is suitable for a wide range of applications, including rail rolling stock, robotics, telecommunications, and more. The converters offer reliable performance in harsh environments, ensuring consistent power delivery.
With an input to output isolation of 1,500Vdc and compliance with safety standards such as IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, the DC-DC converter models provide peace of mind to users regarding safety and quality. The CE and UKCA marks for the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives further attest to the converters' adherence to industry standards.
