Empowering Women in Electronics: Celebrating Future Leaders

Electronics Weekly’s Women Leaders in Electronics Awards aim to promote awareness of the significant contributions made by women in the field, according to Ash Madni, Managing Director of Madni Technologies (UK) and one of the judges for the 2024 awards. Madni encourages electronics engineers to step forward and be recognized for their valuable contributions to the industry.

Karen Holland, CEO of XCAM and another judge for the awards, expresses her optimism about the increasing number of women entering the electronics field. She states, "After many years of only ever having had male applicants for electronics roles, we are now starting to see a few women coming through."

Dr. Nicola Thorn, CEO and founder of AND Technology Research, is encouraged by the rise in returners-to-work and apprenticeship programs. She believes that this shift in perceptions around education, experience, and background signifies a positive change, opening up new opportunities for women to contribute significantly in both leadership positions and highly technical roles.
