ESCATEC, a leading electronics manufacturing services provider, established its ninth production facility, EBG, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in June 2023. Since its inception, EBG has successfully onboarded three new customers and has been expanding its capabilities to meet the growing demand.

Backed by the expertise and financial stability of the ESCATEC Group, EBG is poised for accelerated growth in its second year of operation. The company already has several new customers lined up for onboarding, and ESCATEC is considering transferring projects from its other business units in Asia and Europe to EBG.

Charles-Alexandre Albin, the CEO of ESCATEC, views EBG as a key driver of future business growth. He has expressed a strong commitment to expanding capacity and capabilities in Bulgaria as the customer base continues to expand. Albin envisions EBG becoming the Group's primary production facility in the EU for plastic moulding and electronics assembly.

Ruslan Tenchev, the Plant Manager at EBG, describes the first year of operations as a period of rapid growth supported by a comprehensive CAPEX plan. The company has implemented various capacity expansion initiatives, including the deployment of domain experts from other ESCATEC units and the adoption of a new cloud-based ERP system that enhances connectivity within the production network.

Looking ahead, EBG plans to upgrade its coating processes, laser marking, and X-ray scanning capabilities. A significant investment is also earmarked for the installation of a second SMT line to significantly boost production capacity. The company is focused on recruiting and training skilled personnel to operate the new equipment efficiently.
