Introducing the First AVX Waterproof Poke-Home Connector

Kyocera AVX has introduced its latest innovation in the form of the 9289-000 single-piece wire-to-wire connector series, designed to meet the demand for space-saving high-reliability, IP67 waterproof connections in various industries.

The new connector series marks a significant milestone as it is the first waterproof 'poke home' wire-to-wire connectors utilizing the poke-home contact technology. This advancement opens up opportunities for applications in industrial, transportation, commercial, and consumer electronics sectors.

Featuring a simple and tool-free strip-and-poke-home wire insertion mechanism, the 9289-000 Series allows for easy installation and removal of both solid and stranded wires. The transparent polycarbonate insulators enable visual confirmation of wire positioning, ensuring accurate insertion every time.

With single-piece phosphor bronze contacts boasting tin-over-nickel plating and high-force contact beams, the connectors offer superior mechanical stability and maximum-strength wire retention. Additionally, integral wire-stops prevent over-insertion, enhancing the overall reliability of the connections.

Rated for up to 10A and operating temperatures ranging from -40°C to +80°C, the connector series supports IP67 connections for 16AWG wires with outer diameters between 2.0–2.2mm or 3.0–3.2mm. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from factory automation equipment to outdoor recreational vehicles and drones.
