Aitech Systems has introduced a groundbreaking compact and rugged AI system, the A178-AV, which is equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as CoaXPress (CXP), MIL-STD 1553, ARINC429, and a Real-Time OS.

The A178-AV boasts two dedicated NVDLA (Nvidia Deep-Learning Accelerator) engines that serve as an interface for deep learning AI applications. Powered by the Jetson AGX Xavier GPU System-on-Module, this system supports AI, deep learning, and video and signal processing, catering to the evolving needs of avionic platforms.

Featuring a Volta GPU with 512 CUDA cores and 64 Tensor cores, the A178-AV delivers exceptional performance, reaching 32 TOPS INT8 and 11 TFLOPS FP16 with remarkable energy efficiency. This enables the system to handle AI-based local processing alongside sensors, providing the necessary computing power for a wide range of applications.

According to Dan Mor, Director of Products & Solutions at Aitech, "AI in avionic electronics continues to grow in complexity. The A178-AV offers powerful, efficient, and reliable computing solutions tailored to meet the unique requirements of aircraft operations in rugged environments, from low power video acquisition to high-performance AI capabilities."

The A178-AV represents an upgrade to Aitech's A178 COTS system, now enhanced with CoaXPress (CXP), MIL-STD 1553, ARINC429, and the RedHawk Real-Time OS. The inclusion of CoaXPress video input provides avionics systems with a high-bandwidth, low-latency solution for transmitting crucial video data, essential for tasks like navigation, surveillance, and pilot assistance.

Moreover, the integration of MIL-STD 1553 and ARINC 429 protocols offers users a reliable and cost-effective communication solution for avionics systems. This makes the A178-AV well-suited for critical aerospace applications where safety, performance, and interoperability are of utmost importance.

The A178-AV Xavier GPU maintains the large storage capacity, variety of I/O interfaces, and high-speed 10Gb Ethernet connectivity of the base A178 platform, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced capabilities for avionic platforms.
