CaoCao Mobility has introduced a cutting-edge autonomous driving platform for ride-hailing services, developed in collaboration with Lotus Robotics. The innovative technology is currently undergoing testing in Suzhou and Hangzhou in China, with plans for a global and European rollout by the end of the year. Lotus Robotics, a self-driving technology division of Lotus under the ownership of Geely, has partnered with CaoCao Mobility, a ride-hailing service supported by Geely, Proton, Volvo, PoleStar, Zeekr, and Lynk & Co. The service utilizes specially customized vehicles for autonomous driving and fully automated operations.

Following the successful completion of a pilot program in Suzhou and Hangzhou, where the self-driving technology covered an impressive 13,545 km in test areas without human intervention, Lotus Robotics and CaoCao Mobility are continuing operations in these Chinese cities. The focus is on refining the vehicle-road-cloud integration model to enhance vehicle intelligence and infrastructure coordination, addressing challenges like unexpected pedestrian crossings.

Lotus Robotics recently secured a partnership with Aramco Digital to explore the implementation of robotaxis in the Middle East. The company has developed a comprehensive self-driving software stack named ROBO Soul, designed for integration into any vehicle and environment. Offering up to level 4 autonomy, ROBO Soul enables vehicles to perform driving tasks like parking and highway driving under specific conditions, with the option for human override.

ROBO Galaxy, a suite of cloud-based tools supporting ROBO Soul, allows businesses to manage and analyze data to optimize the efficiency and accessibility of their autonomous fleets. By collecting data from various sources such as sensors, road information, and algorithms, Lotus Robotics continuously enhances the self-driving capabilities of ROBO Soul throughout testing and development.

Lotus Robotics collaborates with renowned global automotive brands like Lynk & Co and Farizon Auto to enable them to leverage the advantages of self-driving technology. To expand its reach and cater to customers worldwide, the company has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for data storage and analysis. By adhering to regulations in each market it operates in, Lotus Robotics ensures the secure and compliant handling of data across its product range.
