OPmobility in France has made a significant move by adopting Teamcenter X, the cloud-enabled Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software from Siemens, for its automotive systems. Formerly known as Plastic Omnium, OPmobility aims to leverage Teamcenter as its central platform to streamline workflows, enhance project lead-times, and optimize product design processes in the ever-evolving automotive industry.
With the evolution of its product portfolio to include electronics and software components, OPmobility now specializes in developing intelligent exterior and complex lighting systems for esteemed customers like Hella. Additionally, the company is venturing into energy storage systems, encompassing sodium battery and hydrogen technologies, to cater to the growing demand for sustainable solutions.
Operating through 40 research and development centers globally, OPmobility is set to integrate Teamcenter as its core product lifecycle management infrastructure, incorporating advanced AI tools. The collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software extends to utilizing the HEEDS AI-based simulation tool, aimed at advancing digital twin technology and enhancing product development processes.
