Panasonic Sets Up European Relay Test Laboratories
Panasonic has recently established two European relay test laboratories near Munich. These labs will not only analyze the company's electromechanical products but also serve as testing stations for other Panasonic products.
The company stated, "The equipment in the labs comprises high-voltage, stress and long-term testing stations, high-speed cameras, leakage testers, and temperature simulators. Customers can book a visit to get support from technical experts if they have special requests or requirements beyond standard applications. This includes questions about particularly harsh operating conditions."
Panasonic acknowledges that while their relay datasheets cover more than 80% of applications, they can only provide a certain range of values and parameters, mostly referring to worst-case scenarios.
In addition to product analysis, the labs will also investigate in-field failures, aiming to identify and address any issues that may arise during real-world usage.
The two labs are located at Panasonic's European headquarters in Ottobrunn and in Pfaffenhofen. The Ottobrunn lab has its own dedicated website and a YouTube video showcasing the facility.
Electronics Weekly has reached out to Panasonic Europe to inquire about any differences between the two labs.
