Rohm Unveils New SiC Brand

Rohm, a leading semiconductor manufacturer, has recently introduced a new brand called EcoSiC for its silicon carbide (SiC) devices. The EcoSiC brand is specifically designed for high-performance applications such as electric vehicles, industrial equipment, and renewable energy systems. The decision to launch the EcoSiC brand comes as Rohm accelerates the production of SiC devices at its newly acquired Kunitomi Plant in Miyazaki. The introduction of the EcoSiC brand is part of Rohm's broader 'Power Eco Family' branding strategy, which also includes the EcoGaN brand introduced in 2022. SiC devices offer advantages such as higher switching frequencies and lower losses, resulting in more efficient and compact systems. By expanding the Eco family to include high-performance silicon products in the future, Rohm aims to further enhance its product portfolio and address evolving market needs.
